Survival tips and Two Months Old

Each day I am learning something new about being a Stay at Home Mommy to LBB. There are those days when I don't get a thing done that I need to get done...and it's on those days that I usually end up getting frustrated with myself. So, as I go about my life as a SAHM, I am learning the little things that help. For example...waking up a little bit before LBB. This, however, is not so easy since he usually doesn't fall fully asleep until 11:30 at the earliest, and I am a sucker for taking in that little bit extra sleep that he allows. However, today I set the alarm and actually woke up at a decent time. LBB woke up with me, but I still got a good start. Before our normal wake up time, I had showered, he had a bath, and I had started sharing photos online with family and friends. Pretty good start, huh? And the other thing that is proving crucial to having productive days...it's easy. A to-do list. :) Dear Sweet Hubby got this cute little hardcover notebook that has graph lined paper in it for me, and it is perfect for lists. (Yes, I'm a little OCD. I can admit that seeing my letters all the same size and evenly spaced apart makes me giddy. And I'm ok with this little quirk of mine.) So, the past two days, I have been making a list (today's actually had "blog" on it...so here I am.) Yesterday's list didn't get done. But today's is half finished. Can I get a virtual high five? Thanks. :) I'll keep learning how to be even more productive as time goes on, and ideally, by the time we are ready to expand our little family a little more, I'll be a pro at this stuff. Hopefully.

LBB is now two months old! WooHoo! He is getting so very big...and each day is an adventure with him. And a big learning experience. However, at two months, here is a glimpse of what LBB is up to:

  • He loves to play "Blastoff" with his PaPa.
  • He is growing like a weed. Tomorrow we have his checkup, so I'll edit this post and put the weight in then. *Edited to Add* He weighed in at 15 pounds 4 ounces! WHOA! And he measures 24 1/2"
  • He eats 4 ounces or so every 3 hours. He can easily down a 6 ounce bottle, but he tends to get a little, um, spit uppy, so we try to keep him at only 4 ounces. It seems to be working.
  • He is getting super strong...he hold his head up, can sit with a little support, and loves to have us hold his hands to he can stand up on our lap. It's amazing how he can hold his own weight already!
  • He loves, loves, loves, loves his Georges. (What we call his Mam Pacifiers.)
  • He has been in three different states in the past month.
  • He loves listening to Barenaked Ladies and rock music.
  • When we are at church, he falls asleep during all the loud music, but wakes right up during the sermon.
  • He smiles a lot, and loves to talk.
  • Favorite books include Bear Snores On and The Lorax.
  • Auntie sings Itsy Bitsy Spider to him and puts on little finger puppet shows that he just gets a kick out of.
  • He's discovered that he loves the bright colors of Veggie Tales.
  • And he's also discovered that he can lick. He loves licking shirts when he is snuggling and his hands when he is not snuggling. Goofball. :)
  • He sleeps pretty well at night in his crib...he usually falls asleep around midnight or so, wakes up around 4 to eat, and sleeps until at least 8. However, naptimes during the day are a compeletly different story. He doesn't like to nap unless he is in the carseat going for a drive. Which is not always an option.
  • He melts our hearts a little more each day. He's got us wrapped around his finger. :)
So, that's what LBB is up to. Thanks for stopping by today! I'm off to work on my to-do list a little more!
