To my dear sweet hubby:
Thank you for being such a strong example for our son. As you grow in your faith in Christ, I know our son will continue to learn from your example to never stop learning and growing.
Thank you for showing him how to show respect to a woman. Thank you for saying "Thank You Ma'am" everytime you get off the phone with the ladies at your work. And thank you for showing me love every single moment of every single day. It is through these acts that he will learn the proper way to treat women.
Thank you for passing down your love of the outdoors to him. I look forward to watching him learn more and more about everything outdoors and learning how important it is to respect nature.
Thank you for embracing how he sees you as the "playtime" parent. I know sometimes you wish he cuddled a little more with you, but I also know that it makes you cherish the cuddle you do get even more.
Thank you for the light you bring to his eyes when you walk into the door from a long day at work.
Most of all, thank you...just for being the greatest Dad our Little Boy Blue could have. And for being the greatest Husband God could ever bless me with!

Folding Baby Clothes...
...and realizing that in the blink of an eye, LBB will no longer be this sweet little 6 month old, but a maturing teenager. :( He's growing up much much too quickly.
I told Dear Sweet Hubby, and he felt equally as forlorn at the thought.
Where does the time go? I am going to start petitioning to have an extra two hours added onto everyday that are only intended for cuddling. Can I get your signature? ;)

He's tipping the scale...
LBB had his 6 month checkup today! The doctor was very impressed with him, and before I start rambling off and bragging about my little boy (which I will spare you, I promise!) I figured I'd share his stats since I normally put them in his monthday post.
LBB weighs in at...wait for it...21 pounds 7 ounces. That puts him in the 97 percentile. He is 28 inches tall (95 percentile.) But, his doctor was quick to point out that he is no chubbier than most babies...just a big boy. :)
I could've told him that. I'm the one carrying him around all day! :)

I do not like slide whistles (as told by LBB)
photo from HERESee what those people have in their hands? It's a slide whistle, and I don't know why they aren't screaming in fear.
Slide whistles are very scary.
Today my mommy and I got to go to this special class at the library. I was having lots of fun. I was dancing to "Don't Worry Be Happy." I was singing louder than any of the other kids. I was flirting with the girls. I was waving at everybody.
And then the lady pulled out this metal thing. And she started playing it. It is very scary. She called it a slide whistle. I call it "make me scream my lungs out" whistle. My mommy got me calmed down a bit, but then the lady played it again. Softer this time, she said, since I didn't like it, but it still didn't matter.
I. do. not. like. slide whistles!
So my mommy and I went into the main library and I got calmed enough to go back in. And they started singing this song called "If You're Happy and You Know It". I was having fun again clapping my hands and singing along. Then they all started crying! In the middle of the song, they sang "If you're sad and you know it say BooHoo." I didn't like that either. Mommy tried to calm me down, but I wasn't having any of it. So, we had to leave early.
I had fun until the slide whistle came out. Scary slide whistle.
This happy little man...
is now 6 months old! My oh my, how the time does fly!!!! I can't believe that I've been mommy to this super guy for half a year now. Most of the time, I feel like it's been longer than 6 months...like he's been here with us this whole time. But then I remember that 6 months really isn't a long time in the whole realm of things, you know what I mean? (Although I do believe I'm just rambling.)
So, at 6 months, LBB:
So, at 6 months, LBB:
- can now roll both ways. It took him a while, but he got it! However, he only rolls from tummy to back when he really feels like it.
- is eating a full range of solids. He usually has oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, veggies for lunch, and he recently started on meats for dinner. His favorite fruits (it is a close competition!) are bananas and applesauce. His favorite veggie hands down are carrots. And with meats...well, he'll eat any of them so far. :)
- is learning how to drink from a sippy. On average he can drink 1 ounce out of his sippy before getting ticked off. He still would much rather prefer to play with the cup and throw it, but he is learning how to hold it and how to drink from it, so that is a good thing!
- takes bath in the big tub now...no more infant tubs for him!
- is desperately trying to learn how to crawl. He can get his butt up. He can get his front up. And he is slowly starting to learn how to bring them up at the same time!
- loves to dance.
- can scoot a bit. He can move around on the floor within a 3 foot radius.
- does not sleep through the night. I don't know why...we've tried everything. I'm accepting that when he is ready, he will do it. Until then, I'm just fighting a losing battle and I am going to enjoy those late night cuddles!
- is growing like a weed...still. He is wearing 12 months clothes, and can already fit in 18 month clothes. In fact, I put a 2T teeshirt on him the other day and it fit perfect.
- loves reading. Playing. And most of all cuddling.
That's all I can think of for now...I know I'll think of more as soon as I post this!

So Not Tired
This is the face of a little guy who is not tired. At all.
But Mommy knows he is...it's just convincing LBB to close his eyes and get some much needed sleep. It seems like the days Dear Sweet Hubby has to work longer always tend to be a little...kiddiewhompus...schedule wise. I feel like the house is in shambles, like LBB has done nothing more than fuss at me despite all my attempts to make him giggle, and if given the opportunity, I would collapse on the couch right this minute and fall asleep for a good, oh, 12 hours. :)
And of course, it was today of all days, that I got the notion to try to help LBB learn how to soothe himself to sleep. I am a firm believer that when he is ready to sleep in his own bed, he'll let us know, and surprisingly, I was right. Everynight, he stays in his own bed longer and longer. Next up on the things that we need to work on...getting him to sleep the whole night through. My body is desperately calling for more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep at a time. :) We'll see what happens...until then, I'll make the most of those 2am cuddles with LBB.
