About Me

It's always tough to know just what to write on an "about me"...so here's a list. :) That should make it easy.

25 Things About Me

1. I'm a Christian...and while I try to stay strong in my faith, sometimes a lot of the time, I stumble. I'm human, and God's Grace is what saves me each day. I am His work in progress.
2. I'm Momma to a precarious, energetic, passionate Little Boy Blue. He is every bit of the miracle we prayed for.
3. I'm Wife to Dear Sweet Hubby...we have been together since high school, and I can't imagine a day without him. God has blessed me far more than I deserve with a husband that loves me, puts up with me, and is there to listen to me when I go on some off-the-wall tangent. 
4. We have two cats, both of whom drive me up the wall. Their cuteness and cuddliness is what makes all the annoyances worth while.
5. I grew up in Montana, moved to a big city when I was 20. Decided we needed some "country living" and moved to the middle of nowhere (literally) for a few years. And now we are back in the same big city. I wouldn't change this for anything (at least for now.) God knows just where He wanted us...I'm going to learn sooner or later to trust that He's got it all figured out. (See #1...total work in progress. haha.)
6. I love making crafts, sewing,quilting, and all that stuff...when my precocious toddler lets me.
7. I love a clean house, but am also terrible at getting rid of clutter. Thus, my closets are a living nightmare. :) I'm working on that.
8. I'm a sucker for Dr. Pepper. I think I've tried to kick the habit a gazillion times and it just doesn't work. 
9. I'm a blue jeans and sneakers kind of girl...I've tried wearing dresses or dressier clothes, but I always end up going back to my favorites.
10. I love vintage.
11. I don't have a "favorite" movie. Or book. Or TV show. But I do have a few of each that I really love.
12. But I do have a favorite band: Coldplay. I could listen to them all. Day. Long.
13. Most of the time I'm barefoot. I hate feeling like my toes are trapped. It's weird, I know.
14. I can't go 15 minutes without picking something up or cleaning. This DOES NOT come in handy when my LBB is trying to get me to play with him. I'm working on that too. :)
15. I love trains and cargo ships. Luckily, I married a boat nerd and am Mommy to the world's biggest (and littlest) train nut.
16. My dream vacation is a trip to Japan...but until then, I'm quite content with day trips to our favorite relaxation spots in state.
17. I'm scared to death of flying...which may pose a small problem when we finally do decide to go on our dream vacation.
18. My ideal Friday night is curling up at home with Dear Sweet Hubby and Little Boy Blue. Either that or going for a nighttime drive in search of trains for LBB. :)
19. Put a Chipotle Barbacoa bowl in front of me and I'm a happy girl.
20. Being a Stay At Home Mommy is the most rewarding, and most challenging "job" I've ever had. I wouldn't trade it for the world, and I thank God everyday that he made it possible for me to be at home.
21. We've known we were going to homeschool from the time we were pregnant with LBB. I am thrilled to enjoy all these years of being LBB's teacher. I'm very ready for the challenges, and yet I still know sometimes it will be difficult. But I also know in the end, it will be the most rewarding thing I could do. :)
22. I'm a nap-connosieur. NEVER underestimate the value of a good nap in a cloud like bed. When LBB outgrows naps, I'm going to have to go through a major adjustment...even when I worked full time I always took an after-work nap. :) It's my "thing."
23. I think the happiest thing in the world is cuddles with my LBB when he falls asleep in my arms.
24. Autumn is my favorite season...I am crazy about the pumpkins. The treats. The chili. The cool air. The sweaters. And all the harvest festivals.
25. I'm uniquely me, and I'm at a point in my life that I can embrace that. I know there's thing I can work on, things that I can improve, but deep down, I'm happy with my introverted, perfectionist self. :)
