Deals and some crazy cats.

I love a good deal. I love clipping coupons and remembering to use them. I made a little coupon organizer box, and I just LOVE when I have coupons in there that I can use. Some of my favorite money saving things right now:

*$10 off an annual membership to a local attraction that Dear Sweet Hubby, LBB, and I love to go to. We only have to go twice to make up the cost of the membership...and it is something that I know we will get tons of use out of!

*Buy one get one free at my favorite coffee shop. Mmmmmm. Pure bliss. I think Dear Sweet Hubby and I might stop by tonight since he is finally home after all this moving stuff!

*And when buying diapers today, a certain store had diapers on sale, and if you bought three packs, you got a $5 gift card. Top that off with the $2 off coupon I had...yay! I got 110 diapers for $22.00 and a gift card to go along with it. Nice.

Now to Cat 1 and Cat 2. They hate car rides, which is really no surprise since they are cats and all. However, moving is never a treat. Cat 1, our oldest, is a nervous nelly and hates any type of change. And she really hates car rides. Cat 2 is Miss Tough Pants. So, as a result, she tries to tear apart anything that is making her angry. Which, coincidentally, was her cat carrier.

And poor Dear Sweet Hubby was fortunate to drive 5 1/2 hours with Cat 1 and Cat 2. :)

Poor guy.

Ice storms, bath time, and a very busy week.

It's been a few days since I wrote, hasn't it?

We can thank a crazy ice storm for that. I would never have believed what ice can do to a town until I saw it firsthand. Trees breaking constantly, power lines fallen down, and power poles snapped in half. It's insane how much damage ice can create...our town looked like a tornado went through it.

Well, not really "our" town anymore. Now it is "old town" and we are now residents of "new town." That is part of our very busy week...we're moving. And it's a move that was really unexpected. We planned on spending the rest of our lives in "old town"...it's a little bit of an adjustment to change that thinking. The future may be a little up in the air right now, but there are a few things I know for sure: God knows just what He is doing. Dear sweet hubby is always by my side and always providing for his family, which I love. And LBB and Cat 1 and Cat 2 are just along for the ride. :) There are a lot of things I am going to miss about "old town" though. I'm going to miss the simplicity. The quietness. The people who were strangers at first but soon became dear friends. The UPS person ("old town" was so small that we always had the same UPS driver). The hospital and staff where LBB was born. And so so much more. But, such is life...we're onto a new chapter of our lives, and for that I am very excited...it's just the changing of the page into this new chapter that makes me a little sentimental and sad.

LBB used to hated bathtime. Literally screaming his lungs off he hated it so much. But now, within just weeks, bathtime seems to be one of his favorite times. :) If LBB is fussy, bathtime is a miracle worker. Well, that and a followup of his George (what we call his pacifier) and his GiGi blanket. Today was bathday, and prior to bathtime starting, nothing was making LBB happy. Not the George. Not the GiGi blanket. Nothing. But bathtime always changes that. A smile crept onto LBB's adorable little face and stayed there. What joy I have when LBB smiles. I don't think there is a lot out there that is better than a smile from LBB. And now, after his bathtime, he is cuddled up in his GiGi blanket and asleep on my chest. Thank goodness for contentedness. :)

I always said...

I wouldn't be one of those new moms who ended up getting ready sometime in the afternoon. I had these great plans that I would wake up at the crack of dawn before my dear sweet hubby went to work and get ready for the day.

And while I would still love to have that ability...when the crack of dawn rolls around, I just want to take that opportunity to sleep a little if LBB (Little Boy Blue) is sleeping. After all, those 5 hours of sleep I get a night, (including that 4 am feeding) aren't sufficient enough for me to function like I could before! I've heard all the advice about taking a nap when baby takes a nap, but LBB doesn't seem to like to sleep during the day. He would much rather prefer forcing himself to stay awake, even when his eyes are almost shut. I do believe I've given birth to the energizer bunny. :)

So, for now, I am one of those Moms who for the most part gets ready for the day sometime in the afternoon. Usually when my dear sweet hubby gets home for lunch...

But, I don't expect it to last long. Only until we really get settled into a routine....until then, I'm going to savor the lazy mornings when we both stay in our pj's and cuddle. That, my dear reader friend, is pure happiness!
